Change the Subject

posted by in Uncategorized

There is too much talk out there of the weather. So that is the only, tiniest mention it will get today, from me!

We need knew subjects to discuss. So many people turn to that subject when the conversation dries up. It is however an easy thing to discuss and talk about. What we think of it, how we feel about it, what it allows us to do? It really rules a lot of things in our lives.

But so do many other things. Especially in today’s society. For example, energy, is a massive subject, also on many peoples minds, though it isn’t always necessarily talked about.

Energy Affects on the Weather

posted by in Uncategorized

Well here in the lovely South West of England where Enigin PLC headquarters run from the weather has, no surprise, taken a turn. From the gorgeous. sunny, very hot days to the cloudy, dull, drizzly weather we are now having.

I must admit that for myself I am enjoying it being cooler but no doubt in a week or two I will wish for it to be hot and sunny again! The weather just can’t win can it. Most of us don’t really know how we would prefer it to be. We wouldn’t be happy if it was always sunny or always raining.

And with climate change really starting to take hold now we can see here in the UK the affect it is truly having on our weather systems. The dramatic changes in weather and the unpredictability too. The forecasters seem to be having a much harder job now then even a year ago. The weather is so temperamental.

As I have said before this year so far has seen a much hotter summer then we have had here in the UK for many years. It is only the beginning of July and already I can honestly say that we have had a good chunk of proper summer weather.

We had snow back in the winter for a week, we have had floods, stormy weather, torrential rain, beaming sunshine, scorching temperatures and humidity to the point of making it difficult to go about daily activities. All things we are not used to experiencing in the UK, at least not all within one year. Well actually only the first half of a year!

SO what is to come? What more affect it climate change going to have on our weather systems and how are we going to control it? As you may see from some of Enigins other blogs, we have tips and advice on how you personally or as a business can start making a difference. Become energy efficient, save money and energy, take a part in helping curb climate change.

Enigin – lovely weather!

Well we have had wonderful weather here in the UK has been hot, hot and more hot! It has been great. It finally feels like we have had a “proper” summer. But it did start to get too much.

Every day coming into the Enigin office, over heated, therefore making you feel uncomfortable and irritable. I was definitely starting to wish for rain and a breeze.

Here in the South West of England we finally, at the moment, seem to have the best of all weather. It is sunny, with blue sky all around, a perfect light breeze, no rain to speak of. Its actually rather lovely.

As many would describe it “the weather is very pleasant”.

It is remarkable how we chop and change our minds though. We wish and wait for hot summers, moaning when we lack the heat and sunshine. And then when we have it for too long we get fed up and wish for rain! Or at least for it to be cooler.

But in all honesty, personally, the weather now is extremely pleasant and just right. So lets enjoy it while it lasts, finally feeling comfortable in the office and seeing the sunshine out of the window.
